As outsourcing service models mature, vendors are striving to provide a partnership style of collaboration. This is based on the outsourcing teams being able to understand and value more fully the customer business overall aim and vision.
Current trends for IT outsourcing are based, in part, on an increased growth of Cloud-based developments, along with the need to handle very large and unstructured data sets, known as Big Data Analytics. We explore these trends thoroughly through our work with clients at Shinetech and unpack their meaning below.
Cloud Computing
The ever increasing trend towards business applications for mobile devices has created more demand for mobile application development. This is a trend embraced by Shinetech. One could argue that innovation is derived from an accumulation of experiences. Software in and of itself is an innovation, and so is the practice of IT outsourcing. At Shinetech, our software engineers harness their capabilities and experience to innovate IT outsourcing.
An emphasis on partnership is important for undertaking agile projects. Because agile principles often revolve around teamwork, employees each need to demonstrate the appropriate skill set and expertise required to build a team. This helps to assure our offshore clients that they are working with a sustainable and stable team that can implement agile principles in project work.
“Agile” is a hot word that has been discussed for several years here at Shinetech. In 2006, our general manager held a series of project manager meetings discussing project development methods and quality assurance, as it fits within an “agile” concept.
In the course of project development, you may encounter various problems and make various mistakes. In some situations, these problems and mistakes are easy to solve and correct, while in other situations, a mistake or problem could lead to the termination of a client’s contract.
How could the same problem deliver different results?
America is a country with a strong consciousness concerning independence. IT engineers from America often seem to work independently, without relying heavily on others for direction or guidance, while many IT engineers from China take a more collaborative approach to projects.
Subjective initiative is a common term in China that refers to a person’s willingness to take charge or be compelled to take action without having to be asked. A person will often recognize the positive that can come from a situation, or how they may be helpful, and proceed with assisting to better the situation independently of someone else asking them to do so. This term can be applied to one’s personal life, as well as the choices they make at work.
What is agile?
Agile is neither a development process nor a methodology. The development process is only a tool. We can also be agile with RUP (Rational Unified Process)—a framework of industry-tested best practices for software development, or even a waterfall model.
